The world number four's victory came with a score of 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), after Coco Gauff won in straight sets over Iga Swiatek in the opening match of the women's singles.
This is the second victory for the United States in the mixed team competitions after winning the first title in 2023.
Gauff, ranked third in the world, achieved her second successive victory over Swiatek after defeating the former world number one on her way to the final title of the women’s tennis season in Riyadh in November.
The Polish player, now ranked second in the world, took a medical break when she was 5-4 behind in the second set to put a bandage on her left thigh, which bothered her all week. After the 6-4 and 6-4 defeat, she left the court crying and walking very carefully. .
