Liverpool manager Arne Slott has insisted that defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is “fully committed to us” amid speculation over his future.
The English right-back is out of contract in the summer BBC sources said Real Madrid had taken an approach – But there is no offer – to sign him in January, which the Reds rejected.
Spanish media have also reported that Real Madrid are interested in buying the 26-year-old this month, but Slott is confident he will not be a distraction and has confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will remain in Liverpool's starting line-up against Manchester United this weekend.
“I can tell you he's going to play on Sunday and I hope he gives the same performance he did the last half of the year,” Slott said.
“I think everyone saw how great the first half of the season was, how great he was here, how much he wanted to win here.
“I see him on the training field working every day. He is fully committed to us and will play on Sunday.”
There has also been speculation about the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk as they are also in the final six months of their contracts at Anfield.
Slott added: “If it would destabilize the players at Liverpool if other people talked about them, then we would really have a problem.
“If you play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, everyone is always talking about you, sometimes in relation to other clubs. This happens a lot to our players.
“There have been some conversations about our players as well in the last six months and I don't think that has destabilized them at all.”
