Saurashtra wicket-keeper batsman Sheldon Jackson called time on his white-ball career in domestic cricket. According to reports, it is learned that the right-hander has retired from white-ball cricket but will continue to play red-ball cricket for the team.
Sheldon Jackson has been a great servant for Saurashtra in domestic cricket and it is fair to say that he is one of the best wicket-keepers in Indian domestic cricket. The right-hander retired at the age of 38 on Friday (Jan. 3).
Sheldon Jackson made his List A cricket debut against Baroda
Jackson made his debut for List A cricket against Baroda at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara. And then he turned into a legend of Saurashtra. He played 86 50-over matches and scored 2,792 runs at an average of 36.25, including 14 half-centuries and nine centuries as well.
Jackson was also impressed with the gloves behind the stumps. He has affected 51 dismissals in the format, which includes 42 catches and nine stumpings. There is no doubt that his absence from the team will leave a big void in the team’s lineup.
Sheldon Jackson has also been decent with the bat in T20 cricket as well. Goalkeeper 1812 works in 80 matches. This also includes his outings during his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League, where he played nine matches.

Jackson's last match came during the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Punjab. The wicketkeeper-batsman was not performing brilliantly with the bat as he scored 13 runs off 10 balls. His best came during the Vijay Hazare Trophy final in 2022, where he gave his best.
Jackson played a brilliant innings of 133 off 136 balls against Maharashtra and helped his team win the tournament. However, he will now be keen to give his best for the team in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.
He has been a stalwart for Saurashtra in the longer format of the game. Sheldon Jackson, who recently played his 100th first-class match, has amassed 7,187 runs in 103 matches at an average of 46.36. He also criticized 21 tons and 38 fifty.
