“The association's decision to perform insight to create the role I am now, which is the president of the Elite game, is that we have already started this preparation.
“It is up to us to qualify for the tournament as well, if it is not automatic, but it is a source of inspiration for all of us, I, the full track, the players in the dressing room now.”
Scotland qualified for the first World Cup Finals in 2019, but it was absent from 2023, while it had not reached the European Championship finals since 2017.
McCardel says that the response to England, which hosts the euro in 2022, felt all over this country, and hopes that Scotland can benefit from a similar scope.
“It is a great source of inspiration that we can host, but we also get to the World Cup now,” McCardel said.
“We have seen how large the euro hosting in England is to develop the English game overnight, and it is definitely something that will have a tremendous impact on the game.”
Meanwhile, McCardel reiterated his belief that he was ready to take the main coach on a permanent basis if he is presented at the end of the current “ongoing” recruitment process.
After losing their opening group in the Netherlands and Austria, Scotland faces a double head with the best seeds and group leaders, and they travel to Wolfsburg to get a return tie on Tuesday.
McCardel says the campaign “gives us a standard” to measure their progress and “learn” as they look “towards the constant qualification of the competitions.”
Scotland lost its previous three meetings with Germany without a record, and the most recent of those who were a friendly defeat 3-0 in 2013.
