Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland will miss Thursday's match against Celtic after being admitted to hospital.
It is understood the 31-year-old suffered internal bleeding and spent Hogmanay under medical care before being released.
The Gers vice-captain is believed to have been left blindsided by his absence from Thursday's match, which is being broadcast live Sky Sports.

Director Philippe Clement confirmed Sky Sports News On Tuesday, the right-back would be out for “a few weeks” after sustaining an injury in the draw with Motherwell.
Rangers are already missing right-back Nraycho Kasanwirjo, while Dogon Sterling – who can also play at right-back – fills in for the injured John Souttar at centre-back.
The team's coach also confirmed that defender Leon Balogun – who missed the draw against Motherwell – remains a doubt for the match.
Clement said Sky Sports News: “There is still doubt about Leon Balogun. There is very little chance of his return.
“We will lose Tavernier. He had an injury at the end of the game. He had a scan and there was a minor injury and he will be out for a few weeks.
“This is a blow to this game. We need to find solutions.”
