Manchester City achieved a landslide victory over West Ham United, 4-1, on Saturday, achieving its second consecutive victory in the English Premier League.
West Ham They looked sharp on the counter-attack in the early stages, but their extravagance was punished in the tenth minute as the hosts took the lead. Vladimir Coufal's unfortunate own goal gave them the advantage, as Savinho's cross struck the Czech defender's leg before flying over Alphonse Areola.
Man City They flexed their attacking muscles as the half came to a close and got a second goal three minutes before the break. The lively Savinho sent a perfect cross to Erling Haaland, and the Norwegian made no mistake as he headed beyond Areola.
The same duo shared with Manchester City quickly put the game beyond any doubt ten minutes after the break, as Savinho unleashed Haaland and shocked imposing centre-forward Konstantinos Mavropanos before firing over Areola.
Things would get worse for the visitors just three minutes later as some wayward passes gifted Manchester City their fourth goal. Kevin De Bruyne took advantage of Mohamed Quddus' mistake and passed to Phil Foden, who easily shot the ball into the net.
West Ham was able to reduce the gap 20 minutes before the end when Niklas Volkrug fired a powerful ball past Stefan Ortega, but that was no more than a consolation after another disappointing display that increased the pressure on Julen Lopetegui.
