Hobart Hurricanes' pacer Nikhil Chaudhary performed well with both bat and ball in the match against Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. The match between the two teams was played on Sunday (January 5) at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Nikhil Chaudhary bowled two overs with the ball and also played a good hand with the bat. The Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder kept his team in the hunt in pursuit of 187 as he held on at one end while wickets continued to fall at the other end.

Chasing the target, the Hobart Hurricanes were left reeling at 101/4 and were under immense pressure. That was when Nikhil Chaudhary joined hands with Tim David and rescued the team from trouble, taking them closer to the target.
While Chaudhary played the role of anchor, David was at his best. Their partnership frustrated the Adelaide Strikers as they added 75 runs that almost sealed the match for the Hobart Hurricanes and put the Adelaide Strikers players under immense pressure.
During his innings, Chaudhary's shot almost knocked down umpire Sharad Patel's leg. In the fifth ball of the 12th over, D Arcy Short bowled a googly delivery over leg stump, as the batsman raced to deep backward square. The referee stationed there tried to move out of the way but fell heavily to the ground.

Nikhil Choudhary and Tim David led the Hobart Hurricanes to a five-wicket win as they chased down the target with eight balls to spare
Nikhil Chaudhary finished with a 22-run innings off 22 balls with two boundaries. But after his exit, it was Tim David who took the responsibility on his shoulders and made sure that he led his team to win the match against the Adelaide Strikers and get two important points.
Tim David played an unbeaten innings of 62 off 28 balls. The all-rounder batted at a strike rate of over 222 and also hit 3 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. His knock saw Hobart Hurricanes win by five wickets as they chased down the target by eight balls.
Earlier in the match, Chris Lynn played a vital innings for the Adelaide Strikers. He scored 49 runs off 27 balls. He slammed 5 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, batting at a strike rate of around 182, and took his team to a flying start with the bat. He was well supported by Olly Pope and Alex Ross.
While Bob played a decent hand of 33, and Alex Ross, who scored 47 points, the team reaches the big total on the board. Based on the team effort with the bat, the Adelaide Strikers scored a total of 186 runs on the board.
