Cricket Canada says she is “monitoring” the situation actively after the arrest of Captain Nicholas Certon in the Caribbean.
Local reports say that 26 -year -old was detained at Barbados Airport on Sunday for potential drugs.
“We are actively monitoring the situation and we closely follow the developments with its development,” Cricket Canada said in a statement.
“We take this very seriously and remain steadfast in supporting the highest standards of integrity and accountability within this sport.”
BBC Sport called Barbados Police to comment.
Certon was born in Barbados, but he is qualified to play with Canada through his mother.
Like the West Under -19, before migration to Canada, it led to its international appearance in the T20 match against Amman in 2019.
The beating founder, who played 21 days and 28 T20is, was appointed as a leader in July 2024.
Canada is preparing for the opening North American Cup – which also includes the Kayman Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda and the United States – which begins in the Cayman Islands on April 18.
