This collective trajectory combined with Alexander Isak's recent form has not stood in the way of transfer rumours, especially around the Swede and Possible move to Arsenal This year in what will be a big hit.
He's not the only one who could be headed for the door, however, with Callum Wilson yet to sign a new deal and is currently on track to become a free agent at the end of the season. Sadly, if the experienced striker leaves, it looks as if the Magpies already have a plan in place.
According to The Scottish Sun newspaper. Newcastle have made a formal approach to signing Ivan Mooney from St Mirren, but they are yet to make their first bid in the race to sign him for the Arsenal side.

At just 17 years old, Mooney is undoubtedly a striker of the future and would immediately learn from the likes of Isaac if asked to take on Wilson's role as deputy in this department.
Muni is one for the future
By replacing the old with the new by welcoming Mooney in preparation for Wilson's exit, Newcastle will be planning for the future in a smart move. The teenager has impressed many in Scotland to make four appearances for St Mirren's first team in the Scottish Premiership, scoring once and assisting once in an excellent spell.
A player who can play on the right side as well as in the central role, Mooney's arrival will kill two birds with one stone at St James' Park for years to come, replacing Isak and replacing Miguel Almiron.
However, it will not be a simple race to sign the youngster with Arsenal interested. The Magpies must form a strong ground to lure Mooney away from the Gunners and towards Newcastle.
With Wilson on his way out, they could at least offer an immediate route into the first team to get crucial minutes from the start. Meanwhile, Arsenal may not be able to provide such a role in their squad.
