New Orleans offense: The Allstate Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia has been postponed


The Sugar Bowl game between the US college football teams of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia has been postponed until Thursday after the New Orleans attack that killed 10 people.

At least 35 others were injured After a man drove his car into a large crowd in the early hours of New Year's Day, authorities said in New Orleans.

Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley said the committee was “devastated by the terrible events.”

He added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”

“We are in ongoing discussions with authorities at the local, state and federal levels and will communicate more details as they become available.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the incident was being investigated as a “terrorist act.”

The game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish is scheduled to be the final of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

It has not been confirmed what time the rearranged match will start on Thursday.
