Britain's Matt Weston won the sixth race of the men's Skeleton World Cup season to take the overall lead in the competition.
Weston led Austria's Samuel Mayer by just 0.04 seconds at the end of the first round before opening up a gap of 0.62 seconds to take victory in Winterberg, Germany.
Weston overtook his British colleague Marcus White at the top of the overall standings, after White finished eighth in Winterberg.
German Christopher Grother won the first four races of the competition, but fell to third place after he did not participate in Latvia last December, and he finished third on Friday.
British runner Lawrence Bostock finished 16th, 2.16 seconds behind Weston.
Weston, who last year became the first Briton to do so Winning the Men's World Cup At 16 years old, he will look to defend his title during the remaining races of the season in St. Moritz (Switzerland) and Lillehammer (Norway).
The title is won by the athlete who scores the most points in the eight World Cup races.
Freya Tarbet, Amelia Coltman and Tabitha Stoecker will compete for Team GB in the women's competition later on Friday. The trio currently ranks fourth, sixth and seventh in the rankings, respectively.
