Littler's world championship win caps a year in which his success helped grow the sport dramatically.
In 2024, Letlier was the most Googled sports person in Great Britain and the third most searched person overall.
As well as winning the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and coming runner-up in the main award, Littler has appeared on TV chat shows and is on Forbes' list of the Top 30 Under 30s in Europe, uncharted territory for a darts player.
Dubbed the Littler Effect, 'The Nuke' recognizes what his success in darts has done, with the significant growth in the number of children's academies being formed across Great Britain in the past 12 months.
“It's nice to see the family section stocked with my darts shirts,” Littler said.
“I know what you did for the sport and it's good for the kids to enjoy the Alexandra Palace experience.
“Even seeing a darts academy open in Warrington is something special in my city.”
In addition to his older brother, Littler's parents joined him on stage at Alexandra Palace to see him celebrate his World Series crown.
“They put effort and hard work into me, but just having them get on stage and celebrating my brother's 21st birthday today is such a good gift,” Littler said. “My sister didn't want to come on stage.
“It's not a normal life for a 17-year-old, but it shows what I've done to myself.
“My parents got the right sponsors for me and they did a lot for me.”
Littler also spoke about the future of the PDC World Darts Championship based at Alexandra Palace in London.
Ally Pally has held the competition annually since the 2008 edition, but Matchroom Sport president Barry Hearn has indicated in recent interviews that the tournament could leave its famous home due to the sport's growing popularity.
In response, Littler called on the PDC to consider facilities for players when discussing whether or not to move places.
Littler told the BBC: “The DNC officials will do what's best for them.”
“But probably one of the key things is that you can get a 5,000 or 6,000 capacity arena easily, but there's also access to hospitality tickets (and) players' training rooms.
“We need somewhere to get good exercise and obviously see family.”
