Luke Littler has only been world champion for a few days, but he is already targeting more silverware in 2025, including becoming back-to-back Premier League champions.
Littler made history on Friday night at Alexandra Palace when he became the youngest ever winner of the World Darts Championship at 17, surpassing rival Michael van Gerwen's record of winning it at the age of 24 against Peter Wright in 2014.
Before he claimed the biggest prize of all and fulfilled his destiny, Littler had a fantastic first year as a professional, claiming 10 titles including the Premier League and his first major championship at the Grand Slam of Darts.
In the Premier League final against Luke Humphries in 2024, Littler scored a nine-quarter throw and electrified the crowd at the O2 Arena, clear in his ambitions to keep this trophy in his locker until 2025.

Luke Littler beat Michael van Gerwen to claim the Sid Waddell Trophy and win the World Darts Championship.
“Yes, if I could go back, it would mean the world,” Littler said.
“Before (in 2024), I thought if I could get into the top four, I would be happy, but obviously I finished first because of the way I played.”
“But I'll have the same mentality, if you make it to the playoffs, that's all that matters and give it your all at the O2.”

His nine in the Premier League was one of four hit by 'The Nuke' in 2024, equaling Gerwyn Price's record of nine in 2022, and he admits he would have loved to have broken that record in the World Series.
Littler knows time is on his side, and if he can pick up “11 or 12” titles in 2025, world number one could quickly be within his sights.

“I would love to hit a nine-dart at the World Championships and obviously I'll try to finish 2024 with a five-dart nine, but that's not going to be the case, so obviously that's another record I can try to break for years and years.” “Littleir added.

“When you play very well, you can feel the next nine.
“I will now recharge the batteries and calm down, but people will see that I will be hungry for more titles this year and hopefully I can go one better and win 11 or even 12 onwards.

Luke Littler said he would love to take the trophy to Old Trafford and was delighted to have beaten Stephen Ponting in the semi-final, otherwise he would have taken it to Anfield!
“Obviously if I can add a little more money to the rankings, we all know how much defending Humphreys does, it's a hell of a lot of money.
“But there is one more thing, I can't wait to play with him in the World Cup. Maybe at the end of 2025, I can see myself number one.”
