Liverpool host Leicester City in the Premier League on Boxing Day, in their last home game of the calendar year.
The Reds are certain to enter the new year as postseason leaders in the league A wide victory over Tottenham Hotspur 6-3 last weekend but have the potential to extend their four-point lead on Thursday when the struggling Foxes visit Merseyside.
Arne Slott's side have still lost just once in all competitions this season, and are now favorites to win the league title Premier League address. They have won their last four meetings with Leicester and are likely to make it five in a row at Anfield.
The Foxes enjoyed a new, young manager under Ruud van Nistelrooy, and achieved good but important results against West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion. However, reality came in their last two matches, as they lost 4-0 and 3-0 to Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.

Liverpool have seen the likes of Alisson and Diogo Jota return over the past few weeks and now have an almost fully fit squad ahead of the clash with Leicester. The Reds are likely to be without Connor Bradley and Ibrahim Konate, but the rest of their squad should be available.
Jota could make his first start since October on Thursday after again coming off the bench against Tottenham. As matches increase in intensity and speed, the Portuguese could replace Cody Jacobo, with Luis Diaz moving to the left wing.
Kostas Tsimikas could be another player to come into the starting XI to give Andy Robertson a rest, while Curtis Jones will compete with Dominik Szoboszlai for a place in the starting XI.
Liverpool's expected lineup against Leicester City (4-2-3-1):alison; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, McAlister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Gota.
Leicester's worrying defensive record in the past two games has coincided with an injury to Mads Hermansen. The excellent goalkeeper was withdrawn at half-time against Newcastle and the Foxes conceded six goals in the 135 minutes that followed. He could return against Liverpool but former Red Danny Ward will start in a different way.
Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk could return from his long injury at Anfield too. Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira, Odsonne Edouard and Abdel Fatawu are all absent from the Foxes team at the present time.
Jamie Vardy has drawn his last two matches but has an excellent record against the Reds. He has scored ten goals in 17 appearances for Liverpool, four of which have come at Anfield.
Leicester City expected lineup against Liverpool (4-2-3-1): wing; Justin, Cody, Vestergaard, Christiansen; Skip, Somary; Bonanonot, Alkhnos, Mavididi; Vardy.
Only Tottenham have scored more than Liverpool's 37 goals in the Premier League this season, which is the exact number conceded by Leicester. Wolverhampton Wanderers are the only team with a worse defensive record than the Foxes.
25 points separate the two teams, and an in-form Liverpool will fancy their chance to put Leicester ahead on Boxing Day. They have been surprisingly penetrating in recent weeks without Konate in defence, but their goal-scoring level is very impressive.
Van Nistelrooy enjoyed plenty of one-on-one encounters with Liverpool during his playing days at Manchester United, but he could spend a long afternoon at Anfield on the touchline on Thursday.
