Before Nair's astonishing feat, the record belonged to the former New Zealand All-rounder James Franklin, who collected 527 runs. Nair's consistency now puts him at the top of the list, ahead of notable names such as Joshua van Heerden (512), Fakhar Zaman (455), and Taufiq Omar (422).
Nair breaks records
Nair's impressive streak began on December 23, when he scored an unbeaten 112 against Jammu and Kashmir. He followed it up with 44* in a modest chase against Chhattisgarh, a season-high 168* against Chandigarh, and 111* against Tamil Nadu.
Friday's knock against Uttar Pradesh was his fourth century of the season and third in a row. Vidarbha chased down UP's competitive total of 307/8 in just 47.2, thanks to Nair's heroics.
Huge partnership with Yash Rathod
Nair found an able partner in Yash Rathod, who also produced a match-winning performance. Rathod scored an unbeaten 138 off 140 balls and together the duo put together a massive 228-run partnership for the second wicket.

Vidarbha finished with a score of 313/2 to comfortably register their fifth successive win.
The win pushed Vidarbha to the top of Group D of the Vijay Hazare Trophy standings. The team now has 20 points from five matches, ahead of Tamil Nadu (14) and Uttar Pradesh (14).
