Japan's Hideki Matsuyama set a new PGA Tour record for 72 holes of 35-under par in winning the season-opening event at The Sentry in Hawaii.
The 2021 Masters champion carded a final-round 65 to make history at Kapalua's Plantation Course.
He broke the previous record of 34 under set by Cameron Smith at the same course in 2022.
Matsuyama's fourth round at eight under par included an eagle, seven birdies and a bogey, with the 32-year-old sinking a birdie on the 18th to break Smith's record.
“The last shot, I felt like if I did it, it would be the record, so I'm very happy to score it,” Matsuyama said through a translator.
“I've been able to have a great offseason and get a fresh start this week and play well, so it's a great way to start.”
American Collin Morikawa, who started the final round of the first round behind Matsuyama, finished second with 32 points after a final-round 67.
“He (Matsuyama) never gave up,” Morikawa said. “I knew I had to be on top of everything and let a few slide on that front nine.
“Just looking at the footage I left there, there was a good collection I wish I could get back.
“I know there are a lot of positives, and it will take a few hours or a day to get through.”
Englishman Harry Hall finished the race with a 23-point lead, while his compatriot Aaron Ray was two shots away, along with Scottish Robert McIntyre.
