There are three main things to consider when planning to chip, along with making sure you have some spare cash.
Play other chips
First, when a chip is active, you cannot play any other chips. So think about when you might want to use Triple Captain and make sure you have a rough plan for using your wildcard.
Wildcarding in the weeks before the Assistant Manager segment runs can be a good plan.
Transfer of managers
Secondly, running the slide does not require a transfer but you can change your assistant manager during the three-week period, which costs a transfer as if you were buying a player.
So this is an opportunity to get nice if you want to and maximize your upside with great combinations.
Senior managers have less upside
Because of the bonus of the schedule, it is not necessarily the best idea to choose the manager of a team that is chasing the title.
Mikel Arteta, Arne Slott and Enzo Maresca all had a best three-week tally of 32 points or less this season. But Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola tops the list with 47 points, thanks to wins over Arsenal and Manchester City.
Of course, anticipating those victories is the hard thing!
