“It was a terrible collision. There is anxiety here. Both players are fully committed to the ball and their eyes on it. We didn't see each other coming. That's what you don't want to see.
“The main concern is around Daniel Sams. It's Cam Bancroft on his feet as he walks off the ground. It looks like some damage has been done to his nose. How brave – it was all eyes on the ball for them. It's the last thing you want to see in any form Sports formats It will take some time for the players to recover and get back into the swing of things as well.
It was also confirmed immediately after the accident that the duo would not be able to participate in the match. All the players, fans, support staff and broadcasters on the ground were shaken by the incident, and the match resumed after a long delay.

Meanwhile, commentator Steve O'Keefe felt the huge Perth crowd played a role in the horrific collision between Sams and Bancroft, as the players were unable to hear each other call out.
“It will be very difficult to get back. On these big pitches, you can't hear a player screaming off the ball and something like that happens. Totally accidental, but it's horrific to see. You can only hope they come out of this with minor injuries. As an aside It is really difficult now to regroup,” he said as quoted by Fox Cricket.
