The ruling also stresses that “the purpose of allowing the additional spending is that a long-term injury does not impair the competitiveness of the team, and not to use a long-term injury to allow the registration of players whose salaries exceed the maximum, which is what FC Barcelona is trying to do.”
Barcelona registered Olmo after his team suffered long-term injuries, which allowed the club to allocate part of his wages to register the player.
His four-month allowance will expire at the end of December and Barcelona's Commercial Court No. 10 rejected the club's request to register him temporarily.
Spanish media reported that Barcelona filed an appeal before the Magistrate Court, which will consider it on Monday, one day before the deadline.
La Liga said the decision not to register Olmo, who was a youth player at Barcelona but left for Dinamo Zagreb at the age of 16, was initially taken by the budget verification body.
He was then confirmed three times by the Financial Fair Play Committee, the Social Appeals Committee and the UEFA Second Tier Licensing Committee.
Olmo, who helped Spain win the European Championship in the summer, has scored six goals in 15 appearances for Barcelona this season.
Barcelona occupies third place in the Spanish League, three points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
