CELTIC team-mates are making 'best' season 'easy' for Cone

Nicholas Cone is enjoying the most productive period of his career and is quick to praise his teammates for making life at Celtic “easy”.

The 25-year-old German winger scored twice in Sunday's 3-0 win over St Mirren, taking his tally for the season to 16 goals in all competitions.

The former RB Leipzig and Ajax youngster, who arrived from Rapid Vienna in January 2024, also has 11 assists.

Kone scored as Celtic won the League Cup final against Rangers, and also scored twice in the Champions League, as Brendan Rodgers' side look to qualify for the knockout stage.

Summing up his campaign so far, he said: “I think it's the best but it's also the best team I've played in.

“All my teammates, the coaching staff, made it easier for me and I'm happy to be here.

“I think it's just the surroundings, I feel really good, I'm happy to be here and everyone is making it easy for me. I'm just enjoying playing.

“I don't focus too much on numbers, we just have to perform well and that's what I'm trying to do.

“For me, the most important thing is to stay fit. In the end it's about winning titles.

“We just keep going and we just have to win our games. As long as we do that, it's all good.”
