Brendan Rodgers says Celtic are dominating the Scottish Premiership title race because of their consistency, not Rangers' problems.
Hoops – who will face Ross County on Saturday Live on Sky Sports – They are 15 points ahead of their competitors after beating Dundee United, and Rangers tied with Dundee.
Celtic have won 18 of their 21 league games this season, with their only defeat coming 3-0 at Ibrox, and are on course to retain the title as well as a potential domestic treble, having already won the League Cup.
However, despite Celtic's domestic dominance, Rodgers insists complacency will not set in for his side.
“I think we're 15 points ahead because we've been so consistent,” he said. Sky Sports News. “There can be a lot of light on other teams and Rangers, for example, for being that far behind.
“But then you can look at it and go, well, Celtic have played very well consistently and haven't let up too much and shown such consistency.
“When you have resilience as a team and mentality as a team, obviously that can give you the edge to compete that way. But for us, the focus is always on ourselves and Celtic and how we work and how we play, and hopefully that will be the case.” It continues to deliver those consistent results.
“I don't think there will be any complacency at all here. I think there's always a challenge of people being too complacent and too happy with how things can be, but not at the big clubs. You can never afford to do that. That's what we've shown.” “Constantly, we are always focused and ready for the next match.”
Rodgers calls for winter break to be reintroduced
Celtic could be without a host of attacking options in Dingwall on Saturday, with James Forrest and Luis Palma ruled out for the trip to the Highlanders, while Nicholas Kone and Daisen Maeda are doubtful with muscle injuries.
The match will be Celtic's fourth in 10 days, and Rodgers will support reintroducing the winter break “if possible.”
“When I was here, we knew December was going to be a tough schedule, and we got through all that,” he added.
“Then you had the New Year's game, and only then would you have a few weeks to reset and refresh and then come back again for the second part of the season.
“Playing more games in that period, now that we haven't had a break, is a real challenge. You can't deny that.
“We will do everything we can to deliver the best performances and results and we will focus on that as much as possible. However, it is a really busy schedule.
“You have to produce the best product possible, and that can be a challenge when you have a lot of formulations.”
