Boxing: Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois – How is the heavyweight division shaping up?

Usyk's next fight will largely depend on what happens between Dubois and Parker.

The undisputed two-weight champion has teased a return to cruiserweight, but that appears to be more of a personal desire than something that makes financial sense.

Dubois will consider himself a top contender and is desperate to face Usyk again after losing to the Ukrainian in 2023. Marred by a tight call on a low blow.

If Dubois defeats Parker, a fight with Usyk could happen in the summer of 2025.

If Parker wins, Dubois could demand a rematch or perhaps even Joshua would emerge as a potential contender given his win over Parker in 2018.

What about retirement for 37-year-old Usyk?

talking on 5 live boxing broadcasts with Steve Pons, Anthony Crolla says Usyk has already achieved “immortality” in boxing.

“He should have put his gloves on in the middle of the ring (after beating Fury) and come out on a huge note,” Crolla said.

“I think when (Usyk)'s manager spoke, he seemed certain that (Usyk) wasn't going to retire.

“I think we'll see him fight next year. If he does that and fights Usyk Dubois again, he should be expected to win when he already stopped him but I think that's a much tougher fight this time.”
