Bournemouth, ranked seventh, begins the new Premier League year with a visit to Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The Cherries have finished 2024 in impressive form, with three wins and three draws in December. Two of those wins came against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United as Andoni Iraola's high-octane style punished the struggling giants.
Bournemouth could climb up to fifth if they taste victory this weekend and other results go their way, but Everton will prove a stern challenge. The Toffees recorded impressive draws with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City during December, results that helped them move two points clear of the relegation zone.
The reverse fixture marked one of the most dramatic comebacks in Premier League history. Everton was ahead by two goals until the 87th minute at Goodison Park, but conceded three times in the final minutes in a painful defeat.

Bournemouth welcome back Justin Kluivert from suspension after missing the Fulham game, and Iraola has confirmed that Tyler Adams is available after suffering an injury last weekend. However, the Spanish coach confirmed that no other absentee will be able to return against Everton.
This means that Adam Smith, Marcos Sensi and Julian Araujo are all missing at the back, while Marcus Tavernier, Alex Scott and Luis Sinistra are unavailable up front.

Bournemouth have been largely impressive at home this season and have beaten the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham at the Vitality Stadium. However, their intense and enthusiastic approach may ironically be less effective against Everton's stubborn low block.
The Toffees will be looking to frustrate their hosts and have done a great job of restricting their opponents in recent weeks. However, Kluivert's return complements Cherries' dangerous attacking line, which should be good enough to overcome Daiche's defensive unit.
