La Liga has officially rejected Barcelona's request to re-register Dani Olmo


La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation have officially rejected Barcelona's request to re-register both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in their squad for the remainder of the season.

The pair's initial registrations expired on 31 December and Barcelona failed to raise the funds required to re-register both Olmo and Victor before the deadline. Teams under league rules cannot sign players once their initial terms have ended.

“Following FCB’s compliance with the requirements relating to LALIGA’s financial control on January 3, 2025 and the club’s completion of the relevant documents, LALIGA’s budget verification body has decided to extend the FCB’s sports team cost limit from the above-mentioned date,” the statement read.

“In this regard, after the licenses of the referred players were previously requested FC BarcelonaAfter analyzing the applicable Federation regulations, the Control Committee agreed not to grant the advance visa, nor the final license requested by FC Barcelona to the players Mr. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Mr. Pau Victor Delgado in accordance with the literal interpretation of Articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the General Regulations of the Spanish Football Federation which It prevents a player whose license has been revoked from obtaining a license in the same club team for which he was already associated during the same season.”

Doesn't mean that Spanish League The Spanish Football Federation will not grant new registrations to Olmo and Victor, leaving Barcelona forced to try their luck in court once again.
